The Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE), Lahore, has issued a notification regarding the affiliation and commencement of the Diploma in Information Technology (DIT – 02 Years) in its affiliated institutions.
As per the decision of the Governing Body of PBTE taken in its 3rd meeting of 2025 held on 20 August 2025, institutes are allowed to start the DIT (02 Years) program subject to the following conditions:
Institutes located within the province of Punjab shall be granted affiliation for the DIT (02 Years) program on the basis of DIT (02 Years) / ICS or equivalent registration certificates issued by the Director Public Instruction (Colleges), Punjab.
Institutes located outside the province of Punjab shall be granted affiliation with PBTE for the DIT (02 Years) program upon submission of DIT (02 Years) / ICS or equivalent registration certificates issued by the concerned registering authority or department.
The same criteria and procedure shall also be applicable to public and private education or training service providers (TSPs) intending to offer short courses in IT-related fields.
Furthermore, the Governing Body of PBTE in its 6th meeting held on 27 November 2025 approved the extension of affiliation opportunities for institutes intending to offer the DIT (02 Years) program based on DAE / HSSC registration certificates.
Additionally, affiliation certificates issued by universities within or outside the province of Punjab (for the IT sector) shall be considered as blanket registration certificates while processing DIT (02 Years) affiliation cases.
This notification is issued for information and compliance by all concerned institutions.
